If you take a few minutes to call on your customers a few days before the bills are due, you can improve your business relationship by making sure that everything is ok with them. Find out if they are satisfied with their service, learn about problems before they happen, and give yourself a chance to diagnose and fix problems with your own company.

If you customer is having cash or credit issues, then you will be more likely to move up the list of suppliers who will get paid, since you are on the top of their mind for being a helpful and useful business partner.
